Federalism Conference 2022

DOWNLOAD PROGRAM

The Federalism Conference takes place on May 24th, 2022 at Campus Condorcet, EHESS. It is the first event of the "Federalism Project: Theories and Practices".

What is the Federalism Project?

The Federalism project was launched in 2021 by two female Ph.D. candidates from EHESS (School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences, Paris, France), Ms. Vishnu-Kumari Tandon (Center for Indian and South Asian Studies, CEIAS) and Ms. Laure Assayag-Gillot (Raymond Aron Center for Sociology and Politics, CESPRA).

Its first and foremost vocation is to create a mobile, interdisciplinary platform for researchers from different horizons working on federalism, in the absence of such an initiative in the French academic setting. The project will be structured around a yearly conference and seminars that aim to initiate fruitful institutional and scientific exchanges on the topic of federalism. The federalism project seeks to address the following objectives:

Advancing Scientific Knowledge: By inviting leading scholars to participate in scientific conferences on federalism, we aim to conduct a scholarly discussion to gain substantive knowledge and theory that would have been unlikely to emerge from a more orthodox research.

Setting up a Network: Our main goal is to set up a pool of information and network of senior scholars, students and youn researchers involved in the field of federalism, whilst actively promoting an interdisciplinary dialogue between academics.

Creating Opportunities for Publication:
The project’s goal is to publish proceedings from the Conference in an academic journal / scientific publishing house. Our ambition for wider distribution is part of our aim to bring foreign scholars together for a richer understanding of federalism.
